A Farewell to a Dying Man

The warning came not once, not twice, not anywhere near what your fingers can count – but not a single time did you heed the admonition. Now, you’re there on the brink of the death; frail, vulnerable and pathetically in despair. It’s too late. Every second the clock ticks is nothing but mere agony in compensation of the vibrant life you spin away on drugs and alcohol. I pity you – but it’s only as far as you being human is concerned. I don’t feel bad you have to die like this, for you deserve no better demise.

Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live. It seems like you've lost all that's worth living for a long time ago. Now, close your eyes and die, my friend. Join the absolute in peace and ask his forgiveness as you wasted the gift of life. Requiescat in pace.

  1. he'll be back. but then he won't be as blessed... in that he won't have people as good as you anymore to call family. I admire how you're alright about it. :) And I love this: "The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live."
